Easily the worst game I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing

I just got done playing this pathetically bad game.  I must wonder just what people were drinking when they thought this was in any way a quality game ready for release.

The graphics are amateur hour, the dialog is pathetic and the interface is so sloppy that they must have been high schooler playing on their commodore 64.

Don't waste your money, this game is a waste of time.

I can't speak for everyone here but I was drinking Diet Coke. It has the kind of ingredients my body needs to one day be the host for some kind of malicious cancer.

I was mainly drinking Mt. Dew, with an occasional trip to the water cooler.  :HOT:

Meanwhile, I've played this game both sober and slightly inebriated (Wine), and I have to say it is above and beyond Political Machine 2004, and that was a pretty damn good game in itself.

The OP sounds like he is speaking more out of frustration than anything else. In his defense, there are/were a number of painful bugs at launch that made the game difficult to approach.

Through some artful hacking of both my candidate file and my opponent's candidate file, I managed to get all the starting stances correct (party value + candidate value) and dodged the "your stance on an issue resets the first time any action affects its value" bug.

It was only simple difficulty, but I felt challenged and engaged for all 41 of the weeks on the campaign trail. There's a lot of strategy there and I will be looking forward to trying out all the options and possibilities.

That said, I'll be really happy when the party stances are working right and updating properly so I won't have to hack on the candidate files to get a good game.

EDIT: I was drinking Mountain Dew while playing my first election.

just beat Washington in the campaign on painful with my custom character (even with the bug) lol... tough and fun AND hit a high score (Danny Roberts). Oh and I was drinking 7up.

Considering how short the time was between this game being announced and being released, I'm very happy to find this is a solid release. Sure there may still be a small bug or two (I haven't found any yet!) but what can you expect when the people who worked on it had to drink Diet Coke and Mountain Dew so they could stay awake long enough to meet the release date?

Thank you Stardock for a great game!

Fair enough, but specifics are definatly more useful than angry complaints ;)

And most of those issues have been dealt with...now we just gotta get the update into your hands :)

The game team pretty much consumed all the soda in the office, leaving the rest of us thirsty and under-caffinated....

JERKS!

While it is more Political Machine 1.5 than Political Machine 2.0 (if you get what I mean), I love this game very much. And with a price of $20, I think it's great value.

Wow if this is the "worst" game you have ever purchased then you're either extremely stingy or incredibly lucky with games you've purchased to date. Probably the worst game I ever purchased was Lords of Midnight 3. Didn't know anything about the game, just looked interesting from the box. I played the game for a grand total of about 2 minutes.
