realistic maps??? and star lanes speeds.

i kind-of understand why some of the solar system maps look weird:
built for gameplay rather than realism.

but c'mon!!!
they're almost laughable: 6 planets sitting in what seems to be the same orbit around the sun.

now, i can hold-off my realism leanings and justify their positions as more a tactical representation of the system (e.g. their distance from the sun and positions in the game represent the time required to travel from one planetary body to another) rather than a realistic representation of the system.

but i think this can still be done in-game so that planetary bodies can be represented more or less realistically: each star lane has a different "speed".

can different star lanes be modded to have different speeds? e.g.: travel time from sol to jupiter will take a similar time between sol to earth.

in this way, we can maintain a "tactically" balanced game arena while maintainig a realistic model of solar systems.

OR...

are there any user-made maps that try to maintain a realistic model of solar systems?

Unfortunately you can't modify travel time directly, short of making longer phase lanes. You can globally modify phase lane and star travel speeds, though.
