1.04 Market Issue (Hopefully, it's just me)

So I just started up a new game and naturally the first thing I looked at was how the market was working.  As near as I can tell, Buy/Sell rates are still 3/1, the minimum sell price for resources is still hovering around the 100-130 range and so far, after buying an ever-loving ton of crystal, I still have yet to see a single boom.

My version is 1.04 according to the main menu.  Did I misunderstand the changes?  Has something gone horribly wrong with the patching process?

Do you have a mod activated?

Negative. Vanilla game, freshly patched through Stardock Central.

According to SC, I'm running 1.04.022 and having run the application directly from that screen, it's still unchanged.

It sounds like it improperly overwrote your gameplay.constants file or whatever.. I don't know.

I'd say go to one of those site s where you can paste text, like code, and get a temporary link, so I could look it over.. But the problem is that those entity files for the official game are in binary so not decipherable. :)

So I assume this means it's working fine for you then, eh?

I've got some time. I suppose I could just reinstall or something and try it again. I'm really aching to see the market changes in action...

Do be aware that others can be "selling" resources, and thus avoid booms.

Well, a few more attempts at sales triggered a boom but the rates are all still roughly the same as they were in 1.03 (and buy/sell rates are exactly 3/1).

I'm just re-installing. Hopefully that'll fix it.

They were definitely 2:1 for me in the MP game I just played.

Mine had an odd issue like that, updated from 1.03 to 1.04 on Stardock, it was playing as 1.04 but with the 1.03 market (below 200 minimum sell price and 3:1 ratio but also the random number of resource asteroids on planets). I uninstalled and reinstalled through Stardock straight to 1.04 and everything works properly now. Odd issue but seemingly easily resolved.

Yeah, that's what I did. Things seem to be working now.

Hi

I just uninstalled and then reinstalled through Stardock but get the 3:1 ratio on a couple of single player games i have tested?

Forget that just restarted with shortcut and now works... :)

I have the exact same issue.

updated through stardock central today from 1.03 to 1.04 and just started a small random game.

after updating all my graphic / sound / effect and player options where gone (:(
except for my custom keyboard-settings...
also the market was 3:1 with all rates like 1.03 and 1 weird thing i have never seen before:

but maybe that's just a rare normal thing?
it really looks weird when ships jump between those two ;-)

*edit
I just downloaded the 1.04 version from the website and installed it on top of my current 1.04 from stardock - which fixed the bug with the old market values!
when I launch stardock it says there is an update available (1.04.022) where I "only" have 1.04 installed and it asked me to update...

so something is broken with on of your updates ...

That gravity-well thing just happens sometimes I think, it's not an error, just peculiar. And the reset settings thing I remember that happening between 1.02 to 1.03 as well as 1.03 to 1.04 so that's just an annoyance but seems to happen.

I noticed that when I updated from 1.03 to 1.04 the descriptions in the tech trees hadn't updated either, specifically the Laser research for Advent didn't state that it updated Defense Vessels, after my clean install the descriptions were corrected. Some things aren't being updated properly from the Stardock Central update I suspect.
