What is the "Culture Weapon"?

via Vasari Culture Rate research

The Vasari has a research subject that increases the Culture Spread Rate. That's the culture along the phase lines, right?

But also, it improves the Culture Weapon Damage by 3.75%. Now what is this?

It means that ALL your weapons do 3.75% more damage when they are in friendly culture. Advent has shield mitigation bonuses, and TEC has.. I dont know :D

So how much % alligance has the planet your in have to have in order for the bonuses to apply? Advent has like 15 shield mitigation bonus, right? And what exactly does mitigation bonus do then? Is it a bonus to bypass shield or?
Does % shield mitigation mean % more damage against shield?

I think it doesnt matter if you have 0.01% culture, as long as your culture is the dominant one in that planet/asteroid/whatever.
Mitigation is how much damage the shield blocks, or absorbs :)

Mitigation, if we were to talk as it is defined, seems like it would be how much damage the shield actually cancels out. So, if its say 25%, and theres 100 damage, the shields cancel out 25 damage, so the actual shield depleting damage becomes 75.

I think thats what Baleur was trying to say, but i figured i'd punch in with an overly complex and redundant way of saying it :p

Tec has armor bonuses too, doesn't it?

Seems like the tec get the good armor/repair bonuses, the vasari get the mitigation and decent shield power bonuses, and the advent get good shielding strength/recharge and weapon bonuses.

I could be wrong, just how it seems.

ps, i've been playing for maybe 4 days, heh. I was in the beta, but beta vs retail is a pretty nice leap.
