Great game, couple questions...

Great game, but the maual is not a whole lot of help. So Im coming to here to get answers to a couple questions I've run across during gameplay.

1) Every game I seem to be the highest in "Credits lost to planetary underdevelopment" even though I always research all my planetary upgrades and population cap increases. Every planet I own is maxed out save for a couple of my core worlds that I don't reinforce for bombardment. How am I loosing credits? (I play advent 90% of the time)

2) Even when I play advent when I click on a crystal/Metal astroid that has one of my stations on it I see the words "refinery cap 0/3" (Im not %100 sure on the wording but is says something like that). As Advent I can't seem to find refineries in the research tree, is this just a bug or do I need to research something more.

3) PJI's stink, I never build em...not a question its just they dont seem to do any good and I wanted to vent.

4) In multiplayer games is there any way to build defenses around an ally's planet? I don't think so but I wanted to ask anyways...It would be a nice feature to be added in the future.

5) Homeworld had this awesome feature where you could have a ship(s) attack another set of ships. Like have you flak frigates only attack fighters. I know about the attack ships in order feature but when you dealing with 50 frigates its a pain the shift click each one.

Thats all, though I'm sure once I play more I'll come up with new questions.

1) Just make sure you are upgrading each individual planet's population infrastructure and you should not lose anything to underdevelopment.

2) I think the advent's trade structure can also convert into a refinery.

3) Yup.

4) You can only build orbital structures in systems that you own.

5) I wish you could do that as well, like control drag a set of ships to attack. As far as I know it is not possible though.

Regarding 5, I actually find if I send a fleet into a system, they'll naturally fall to their specific roles. ie, the assault ships form the line and start pounding away, the carriers hang back and launch fighters, the support ships populate the middle and boost/repair whoever's being hit.

Even if I target a specific ship, most of the non-combat ships (flak, support, carriers, siege) hang back and do their thing, rather than move in and attack the primary target. Fighters and bombers, in particular, seem very willful about picking their own targets. But in general, they get the job done, so I'm more than happy to leave the micromanagement to the incredible AI and watch the pretty lights.

Nice replies, another not on #2. I'm aware that the advent trade structure can focus on gathering but even with a trade structure in the system set on that ability the Crystal/Metal asteroid still says 0/3. Its probably just a minor bug.
