Spectator giving money to pirates ; Intended?

I'm letting the AI duke it out offline, so I hit 'surrender' and than chose 'keep playing' so I could spectate it.

I wondered if I could give money to the pirates; and I tried.
Perhaps the game stops you, or perhaps it was game lag but I couldn't give money to the pirates.
I than hit shift and tried again; this time it worked. I could give money to pirates even though I couldn't build anything.

So, is this intended or an exploit?

Sounds like a glitch to me... if holding "shift" allows it...

Not to mention there is no reason a spec should be able to influence the game in any way shape or form.

I have often wished that so long as you even had a single ship left and an ally had a planet that you still be allowed to run around in the game. Not win of course, but still control your last few ships untill all friendly planets are dead. If your empire is about to fall and you had a cap or two near an ally then just hang out with him and support his stuff. Microing those one or two high level caps that make it out alive.

It would allow the case you mention giving away your remaining credits to friends or the pirates at the very least.

Largely ineffective of course, but I miss bring able to drop a little structure in an ally's base to remain in the game as other RTS often let you :(

I have been a spectator often, and i have done this for the kicks :) Yous tart of with 3k, plus u get some minerals. This can give you nice 4k+. Using 1k per raid can get you some cheap thrills :)

I posted a few days ago, how you can fully use the pirate screen, market place and even diplomacy screen in observer mode, as in you can give someone credits your planet earns after you surrendered.

I thought this was solved in 1.3, haha

Looking into it, it should have been fixed in 1.03.
