I find this sentence very offensive. My husband is half Hispanic, (making my children Hispanic as well)...could it possibly be that "Mr. Javier Mexican" gets the job because he's QUALIFIED?

My mother-in-law immigrated here from Mexico. She's now an accountant. One of the most intelligent, hard-working women I know. She is well compensated for her work.

Why? Why is she making good money as an accountant while you languish at home?

Motivation, initiative, effort. Yeah, that's why.

This has little to do with the color of one's skin and much to do with one's ambition and willingness to do what it takes to get (and keep) the job.

You have health problems, Lucas. You're fresh out of high school with, I assume, little to no work experience. You're attending college which means an employer has to work his schedule around you. Of course you're getting looked over when you search for jobs.

I mean, why does the person who has little education (and some are here illegally), get the job

Why do you assume that a Hispanic person or black person has "little education"? Are only whites allowed to get an education nowadays? And besides all that...what education do you have? You're a Freshman in college, dude. You have a high school diploma. Wow. Highly qualified there.

I'm sick and tired of the incompetant HUD people, raising our rent when my mom was laid off cause of a strike

Instead of being sick and tired of the HUD people, how about being grateful that you have a roof over your head that you don't have to pay for...and that your mom doesn't have to pay much for? You are bitching about other races and how they want more and more and have an entitlement mindset...

And yet that's exactly what YOU are demonstrating here.

I realize I've just ripped you a new one on this, and I don't mean to be so harsh, but this article is seriously wrong.

Capitalism doesn't see black vs. white. It sees working class vs. ruling class, bourgeoisie vs. proletariat. Black vs. white is pretty much just a cover. I can understand your anger, but I think it might be a bit misdirected.

I can kinda sympathize with your situation. It took me a while to find a job, and to be honest, I probably got lucky when I got it.

--I'm not saying i am entitled to anything, my point was, WHY? Why is it that lower qualified people, get the jobs that other, more qualified people should get? I mean, you put someone in a job that doesn't know jack about it, when, you could've put someone in, that knows what to do...for the same cost....or slightly more?

--I am gratefull for where i am. But, whats the sense in being gratefull when

-First of all, i should have mentioned this was directed at certain groups in my home town.

Why am i sure they have little education. Hmmm, lets see. They get here illegally, they come from a country that struggles to provide basic needs...their education system is struggling....need i go on? I'm not saying ALL are the same, just those who are... I should've mentioned that... I apologize.

--Frankly, non-white races have equal, if not better chances of getting jobs, at least here. Those that whine and pine I lose respect for. I know several mexicans, who are awesome people.

-Yep....

--I apologize for the misdirected anger, to both of you. As was noted, it was a rant.... And thinking...was rare in it...

Yeah, I'll mail it to you this morning.  Be aware that you might have to do it more than once before you get the hang of it...but once you do, I think that you'll find it very effective.

No, you are confusing Capitalism with Communism.  Capitalism sees only workers.  Some more sucessful, others less so.  Only workers and their dependants.

And Lucas, put an adult warning on your article.  Just a suggestion.

Sounds like a whine to me, Lucas.

EVERYONE is an owner in Capitalism.  I did not say it because it is like saying there is milk in Chocolate milk.  Even the lowliest worker does own his time, and  then sells it to the highest, or in some cases, the most agreeable bidder.
