Troubles with Weapon Components Anomalies

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, or maybe I'm missing something, but...  Not infrequently, I get anomalies that reveal some broken down weapons technology that is not a module.  The options on this event are typically, "get +2 to {some} weapon stat on your ship" or "research this tech".   The latter option starts a quest to research the tech, which thus far I've never seen the option for, but I assume that's just because I don't have all the prereqs yet.  The actual bit that I'm thinking is a bug is if I take the "integrate" option, I'll gain 2 in the appropriate weapon stat, but then some number of turns later the bonus will be gone.  Also if I integrate a second weapon into my ship, I tend to lose both.  Is there some mechanic here I'm missing? (only one at a time, or a timer or some such), or is this a bug?

Remember this is real early Alpha so things are not always going to work as intended. 

I am sure the developers would love you send them a save game before and after this happens.

No I do not know how.

Would love if a developer could post idiot proof instructions on how to do this as this idiot is computer illiterate.

This is a bug that has been reported by numerous players.  The +2 stat actually vanishes almost immediately after it appears.  If you watch your ship, you will see it vanish.  There is nothing you can do about it, so don't ever take the option to add it to your ship.  The option to research an improved version of the weapon will appear when you are able to research it.  I'm not sure, but I think it can be researched only once.

I have submitted a save that consistantly shows this, so maybe it will be enough for the devs to find the problem so it can be fixed.

Thanks :).  Was just looking for confirmation that this was a bug, and not some feature I didn't understand ;)
