Oh wow you are right! I did not notice that it was the same day I started using Citrix that my game stop working. I uninstalled it and now, the game is working again! :D Thank you!

Hi! I have the free multiplayer version and wanted to play it for the first time via Steam, however it keeps crashing. I do have Citrix on my machine but need it for work. Is there any other solution? Thanks :-)

Yup, can confirm that it was cytrix causing the issue.

 

Followed this step and was able to launch the game. Will have to undo to launch cytrix.

You can also open up the Device Manager and disable the "Citrix Virtual Bus Enumerator". You might have to re-enable it to use Citrix.

That actually worked. The only problem is that people use Citrix Workspace to log into work remotely (especially since there's currently a mandatory work-from-home order). Maybe the next bug fix can work around this issue?

For now it's fine, easy enough to disable and enable the service! But like mforkash said, would be great if it could get fixed :) Might be something on citrix's end too and not something these guys can do.

I had a VERY similar problem with Cities: Skylines, and they said the problem was with having the program Citrix Workspace installed on the same computer.  Can't explain why that would be a problem, but uninstalling that program fixed my boot issues with both Cities: Skylines and OTC, so I hope it works for other people.

Thanks for this. We have heard that Citrix Workspace has caused problems for other players too. 

For everyone else, it owuld also be helpful to see the files from ../My Games/Offworld/Logs/ directory

BTW, not sure if you guys changed something on your end, or if Citrix did something on theirs, but I no longer crash on boot without disabling the citrix thing in the device manager.

I've still never been able to paly OTC on my primary desktop. It works fine on every other computer in my house, which as far as I know, have all the same sets of software installed on them. Its very baffling. I don't have citrix installed...
