How to load Galaxy Forge maps?

I've copied the .galaxy file into the GalaxyForge folder, but it didn't show up in-game. I then tried pasting it into every map related folder I could find which also failed. I have read that the proper path involves going through AppData/Temp/, but following that path I did not see any Sins of a Solar Empire file to copy anything into.

So how do you do this......

All I'm trying to do is make custom maps with a few frigates spawning at a space junk for two different players. If there's an easier way to do this that doesn't involve Galaxy Forge that would be great as well. However I cannot find the game's core files anywhere on my machine to try and edit the maps that come with the game. I bought the game through Steam, no idea if that affects anything.

Paste it into My Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\GalaxyForge

Then in game change maps to Galaxy Forge Maps you'll find it there and playable

If you don't have Rebellion substitute Rebellion for Diplomacy, Entrenchment ect

The folder for Rebellion is usually C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\GalaxyForge, at least on Windows 7.

Yea..... I guess I wasn't clear enough. That was the first thing I did, with no success. The galaxy file is there, in that folder, but "Galaxy Forge" is empty in-game.

Are you sure the most common mistake is people save their maps under

Steamgames \ Steamapps \ common \ Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion \ Galaxy Forge

It won't show up if its in there and will do just as you are saying

Load you map in GF choose save and double check the current path in the upper window if it is

Steamgames \ Steamapps \ common \ Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion \ Galaxy Forge then click on

Libraries \ Documents \ My Games \ Ironclad Games \ Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion \GalaxyForge

and save your file there, if that don't do it X|

How did you make the map. If you download someone else's map or used an old version of galaxy forge it will not show up even if it is in the right place. For Rebellion you need to use the Galaxy Forge in the Rebellion install directory, not the one download from this site. That one is for Trinity users.

Yea that was the issue, I DL'd galaxy forge instead of using the one in Steamapps. Thanks.
