What are the best rebellion mods?

Hey guys, i have played sins for along time

Just got rebellion and started playing again, what are the good mods for rebellion?

I liked star wars for diplomacy, is there a updated version, or the stargate races one

I would be interested in larger fleet sizes, super pirates, planet upgrades, super capitol ships, stuff like that

I just am not seeing much out yet, maybe still to soon, but if you have a list of well put together mods for rebellion you like please add it and a basic description

thanks

I don't think you're looking in the right places then.  ;)  There are plenty of Rebellion mods.

Here are the main places to look for mods, taken from my steam guide.

  • Moddb - A sort of social media site for Mods, the nice thing about Moddb is that it has its own section for Rebellion (so mods from previous expansions won't be in the list). However, some of the mods listed are not playable yet, and not all mods create a page on moddb.
  • Ricksgalaxy - This Sins fans site contains a nice list of most of the mods ever created for Sins, with a short description in one place. However, it is not exclusively for Rebellion, so many of the mods here may not work on Rebellion.
  • Sins Forums - The official forums are the center for all things mod related, and mods have their own section. The link goes to a useful thread by ZombiesRus that also has a short description of listed mods, plus a useful icon system so you can quickly see which mods are for Rebellion and what kind of mods they are (mods that add factions, planets etc.).

star wars for diplomacy

Which one, Requiem or Sins of a Galactic Empire? Either way, both are available for Rebellion in some form.

super capitol ship

Dreadnaughts in Maelstrom and Heroes in the Enhanced 4X Mod sound like your best bet.

super pirates

Distant Stars is the most famous mod to do that, they've had some sort of issues with Rebellion though from what I understand.

There are plenty of mods out for Rebellion; the three links Goa provided will serve you well. 7DS, once it's beta comes out, is also a mod you would likely enjoy, seeing as how it has beefed up capital ships, super pirates, more planets, and the Empire from Star Wars.

Sadly not, big mods generally do not run well together unless specifically designed to do so.

Just to clarify, no mods currently work for the 1.5 beta, so you'll have to opt out of that if you're currently playing that. My Enhanced 4X Mod has minimods that disables superweapons and resets titan's levels when they die (I.e. even if you kill an enemy level 10 titan it will respawn at level 1), but not disable titans entirely. I may add that for the next version though.

No.  For now I will stay away from the beta.  I will have a go with this mod thank you. Do I just drop it in a folder then select it from in the game?

It would be great if you could add a titan disabling option when next you upgrade your mod.  Everything I need in the one mod so to speak. :)

Update: it's okay, I have found a page about mod placement.

For what you want, download the ones that say "Enhanced 4X Mod 1.5", "Enhanced 4X Mod 1.501 hotfix", and "E4X Optional Minimods 1.5".

Once you have those downloaded, go to "My Documents" -> "My Games" -> "Ironclad Games" -> "Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion". You should see a folder called "Mods-Rebellion v1.1". Move all three of the zip files you downloaded there and extract them. You should get a folder called "Enhanced 4X Mod 1.5" and a bunch of other ones starting with "E4X".

Go in game and go to the options and go to the mods tab. You should see all the mods on the left. Enable the "Enhanced 4X mod 1.5" and "E4X No Superweapons"  and make sure the main "Enhanced 4X Mod 1.5" is at the bottom of the enabled mods list. Then hit applied changes and you should have it running! Here's a quick little guide to the mods' features.

If you're an audiophile and love the music in Sins maybe. It comes in a lossless, high quality format you can't otherwise get*. If you don't mind mid range MP3 quality files, you can find the game's music in the sound directory of your installation folder. It is in .ogg format but some media players like winamp can play them, and there are plenty of converters that will turn them into MP3s.

*Actually, if you ever plan on getting the full collector's edition, I think it comes with the game's soundtrack on CDs, which is basically the same thing.

Which results in a degradation of audio quality, because it's a lossy to lossy transcode.
