Played with a Developer in a 5v5 yesterday, the Developer Minidumps!

For the sake of anonymity, I was asked not to share the fact he was a dev over ICO, so I won't give the name he used in game.  I wanted to let it be known that minidumps, disconnects, and out of syncs are still prevalent on ICO.  It's to the point where most games are ending because somebody minidumped, or disconnected for half a second, and then they were permanently locked out of the game due to no reconnect feature.

All I can say is I hope that is a wakeup call to the developers, if you guys are minidumping in your own game, you should really be scratching your heads as far as the playability of it without a basic reconnect feature.

Now if you could have just played long enough to jump in a few Orkies or a VL titan.......

It would be very interesting to know why some people have terrible minidump issues while others have basically none.

Has anyone any idea what is the most often cause for a minidump?

Honestly, you probably got duped by someone who said they were a dev. Sure it wasn't JakeMac testing his mini-dump feature.

I actually have had several trolls in the lobby claim to be devs...at which point I said to them "F#@ you for banning the Troll List"...when they had no idea what I was talking about, I decided it was pretty certain they weren't a dev...

If a Dev came online, I'd think either we'd recognize their name or they wouldn't tell people they were a dev...given the forum's history of "friendliness", I'd lean more towards the latter...

I still see plenty of sync errors unfortunately, for those that play with mods. Even if we have the same checksum, sync errors pop up like crazy.

I'm going to hazard a guess (without even looking at the logs) and say that whoever it was, they weren't actually a dev...

Speaking of though, why don't the devs play more?  We need a skilled vs devs game.  One was promised 3-4 years ago but never materialized.

Reminds me of the Southpark WOW episode when the creators said,
"Umm, we don't actually play the game".  ;P

I'd like to participate in this, if it would ever happen. :)

special txt colors for devs/moderators would clear up people being able to say they are starclad and screwing with the community.
