DLC 2 Wishlist - New Monsters & Tactical Battle Maps

If FE releases a new DLC Pack, I would like to see one with 20+ new creatures/monsters along with new tactical battle maps and tactical map tiles (for creating new tactical area maps)

Map Examples

  1. Example: Tactical battle that occurs in a swamp with water barriers and bridges.
  2. Example: Tactical battle map of a heavily forested maze that reduces the maximum range of all ranged attacks to 5 tiles.
  3. Example: Tactical battle map that allows city defenders to retreat into the city (perhaps only those with Castle Walls). In the original Elemental you could have one or two units defend the entrance to the city and rotate out wounded units.
  4. Example: A narrow stone bridge across a chasm (players can cross the bridge to engage the enemy, or defend on the narrow bridge)
  5. Example: A map bisected by a river. Units in the river suffer a penalty in combat.
  6. Example: A map covered by a deep fog that gives all units a dodge bonus vs. ranged attacks or limits all ranged attacks to 5 tiles.
  7. Example: Dead magic area map where all units resistance to magic is increased. Perhaps a monument that radiates magic resistance until destroyed (x points of damage to destroy monument).
  8. Example: Wild Magic area map where magic becomes unpredictable.
  9. Example: Burnt out homlet, where tiles of burnt homes are impassible - i.e. you are fighting in and around the ruins of a homlet with a dirt road, farmlands and buildings, not in a pure wilderness area.
  10. Example: City Ruins - you are fighting in a maze of streets and buildings. Problem with this is that the current system does not impose LOS restrictions on visibility or ranged attacks.

My guess (based on earlier information) is that we won't see any tile-based modifiers in tactical combat at least until an expansion is released.

My guess is that it is not planned even for that expansion as it is going to be champions focued (whatever that means).

Tactical battless will be upgraded, when they get to rewirete it for multiplayer which is not even on the roadmap yet,

Has there been some indication that the expansion will be "champion focused"?  Any idea what that means?

Re. the original post, wold be great to see more monster types and tactical maps, some good ideas for the tactical maps there too.

I would also love to see some DLC that adds new monsters.  I would be willing to pay a lot for a monster pack.  FE comes with a lot of very imaginative and interesting creatures, but you can never have too many IMHO.  More is better!

You can find a statement from Frogboy about it here.

I wish for a monster faction and more pre-made factions. I don't mind deviation from the lore though but since it is a fantasy 4x and some may criticize it as "just your ordinary fantasy 4x" then why not stuff some more common things you find in a fantasy 4x like more ogres, trolls, goblins, gnomes, dwarves, halflings and many more beasties. I think if I get to choose I would choose the mechanics of fallen enchantress plus maybe more factions and things you usually find in a fantasy 4x

We have an expansion planned for early next year. I won't spoil it except to say that it’s going to re-design the way champions are handled in the game. We want the game to generally move towards the power of your champions be a reflection of the power of your civilization.
End of quote

OK thanks Gaunathor.  Not sure I like the sound of that statement regarding the expansion though.  Personally I think the way champions work now is quite ok... and that there would be better things to focus any expansion on.

They have said that DLC will add content only. Not code changes like adding terrain multipliers. So basically they can't add anything through DLC that couldn't be modded in, although I imagine they cheat more then a little. They can release a patch for instance that enables new mod options so that they can use it for the DLC for example.
