Should bombers be much slower than fighters?

Should bombers be much slower than fighters?

Short and simple......

Since bombers have a much heavier payload..

Should bombers be half speed of their fighter counterparts?

It would give you time to react to them, and give the impression that they are making a bombing run, instead of a fighter swarm.

And to add my pet peeve since the beginning , why don't s/c auto dock with no enemies nearby?

Distance isn't a factor for the targetting computers to get a fireing solution.  They view where the ship is, what direction it is going, and how fast, then determine where that ship will be at its present course when it fires its weapon.  1 kilometer or 100,000 kilometers make no difference here, because the computer uses the same equasion.

I see you just don't understand the physics of moving in space so I'll stop now.

Again most space combat would need to close that distance to a point where targetting computers could actually attempt to predict firing solutions.

Coronal Fire will beg to differ...

I would like to thank all the people that drowned the point of this topic out in pointless physics, and "real space" combat. It is amazing that the dev's can see our suggestions, and complaints through the sea of madness here.

I would like to thank Albert, Isac and the other 300 folks that history never mentions more than once for specifically being our inspiration behind this topic.

I would also like to thank those of you who believe in realism in video games. To some extent this physics puzzle should be implemented. Esp movements.

If the devs go forth and implement this then it will be a Major breakthrough in gameplay and in some way will cause less Stress on the engine. Dating back from roughly 05/2006 (2008 to be roughly exact), the game has been hit by countless bugs and i would be overjoyed (aswell as the other 2517,982 members and more) if the game changes for the better-not worse (damn corvettes). Esp if the engine is not running at full throttle as it drowns itself in pointless physics.

My only hope is i can live up to 127 years old to fully witness what video games will become.

This thread was pretty much D.O.A. as far as the developers are concerned when it was posted. I can only assume if they are still reading this thread it is for the pointless stuff.

Fun Fact: Bombers are already significantly slower than fighters (max linear speed 1500 compared to 2700).

Anyone care to address my pet peeve:

Why s/c don't auto dock?

Including obviously s/c from hanger bays, besides looking silly sitting there parked in open space, not having to render them when inactive must save a few CPU cycles.

I think if there was a benefit of bringing them in once in a while(manually)...that would be interesting also.

But realistically we have maybe two patches of balancing left, then all suggestions are basically shelved for Sins 2.

And he stabs everyone with just two numbers. Death to noobs, death to misinformation, death to trolling, death to pointless physics and death to kissing *** and trying to be devs. Who needs physics when we've got ps3's. Screw quad core rts engines-Who needs that stuff anyways.

Imitation of the real is often picked to develop games.  It helps to provide the player with a sense of something solid that they understand.  User friendly game design incorporates this.
