I think new pictures sets for Rebellion would make this expansion feel a lot fresher, better! "outstander"! 
Otherwise ive always remember Trinity and im not liking it anymore coz of this expquel : (
I would love a new picture set myself, but personally, I would rather have the developers spending their time fixing bugs and balance issues.
maybe devs could set something up to get community artists to make new picture sets, winner by popular vote get his put into the game or something? Would give community a choice in picture sets and would take the workload off of devs. Just a thought.

How long could it take? Secure some starving artists gifs and let us at them..........
Obviously not a big deal, but I'd love to see this as well. For such a (relatively) small addition, I think it would do a lot to make Rebellion feel "fresh."
That is a really good idea! Not only will the developers be able to focus on fixing/balancing Rebellion, but we also can possibly get some new picture sets.
I'm not against this necessarily, but I'd honestly rather the artists make the Corsev look prettier...

Never played advent but I thought they were all brain washing space women?
On topic, a fan contest for new portraits could work too.
The original sets have quite different art styles, so an "unofficial" addition would fit in rather nicely.
They are very rare to be in their space military. But yes they are, look at the loss screen for the advent. If that does not satisfy just think that the advent are really just humans.

I know its not canon but Valkyness, look for a book it was called saints of a Solar Empire I believe someone wrote it on the forums somewhere. Its really good, its not official canon but it is really interesting.

You don't think the TEC are all men, do you? Come to think of it, I dont think there are any women in their victory picture.

I remember constantly using this mod because 1) the pictures are kinda awesome and 2) it didn't affect the checksum (no change to gameplay).

As has been said, I'm sure the developers have better things to do than making pretty pictures, but I'd assume that IC/SD could get the rights for these from the creator for a pittance. Heck, I assume most people would make some pictures just for a free copy of the game.
A female trader portrait was added in Diplomacy. In fact she appears on the TEC Loyalist selection screen.
A handful of Advent portraits could also be males, but its hard to tell because they are wearing a mask or are just so weird its hard to say for sure. 
Seems the dev's didn't really think that one through. 
There is Advent male but he look ugly because filled with whole bunch of mech, there is other but very young petty boy, with blue, and two mask but look like drone than human. Basic you had two male for Advent, young boy and a guy mix with mech, two other might not human but rather drone.
Edit, there is TEC Woman, but that is one. she look like a very mean greed woman, look you down, not very beautful women, LOL
The one with the helmet who looks like a drone is an Anima, they're the Advent's telekenetics and the guys/gals who remotely control their drones.
Oh, and by "pretty boy" do you mean this one?

When I read this thread about Advent being girls and TEC being boys I always have to think about Vandread, if anyone can recall that Anime. The styles of their respective ships is even slightly similar . And the tech of the women in Vandread is cooler than that of the men, too (although clumsy robots in space is funny to watch lol).

No, Mr. Haze, other one, that is women or girl, hmm could be boy, LOL, but other one where his face kind of blue and white? and bring like he think he is angle or something, He had silly helemt on too.
Edit: Ok, I look agaim, maybe not petty, LOL, anyway, his skin is kind of black, purple face with blue eye (blue of light, not normal blue sence human eye) with blue helemt sort of horn. hummmm with background white light behide him.
Ok, ok, maybe I wrong, there is 3 guy, one drone, two old lady that almost look norml but blue eye. two other I'm not sure they look like young women or boy, not sure. It's could be girl or boy, how you look at it, No wonder TEC want them out, they try to mix body boy and girl, maybe?
there is 7 men or young men and one greedly women for TEC
and for those alien? I don't know, I think it's safe for most of them or all of them are male.
