Advent crystal economy

I have been experimenting with both advent factions since the release of Beta 2 and I have noticed that Crystal resource lags behind metal no matter what I do. I even went so far as to try as Advent loyalist with no metal upgrades and max crystal upgrades. Even so crystal production lagged far behind. Has anyone else noticed this? If it was just one match I might put in down to poor access to crystal asteroids, but in three matches? And even after several hours and many acquired ice planets, crystal just does not gain at any significant rate.

Its not uncommon for all the races. Crystal always lags.

Its because the Advent tend to spend a bit more on research, which is more crystal heavy. Most ships use more metal, and its a bit more common overall.

Most Advent ships also tend to use more crystal per metal, as will TEC or Vasari ships. So when playing Advent, you have even more of a problem with few crystal than with TEC for example.

Only thing to do is, get a ice planet with 4 crystal asteroids and stack trade ports for resource focus there.

Or just go and build alot of Trade ports and buy crystal. 1 Trade port can (varying on trade lane length) go up to produce more than 0.5 crystal per second easily (raw). (2.5 credit per second will go to 0.5 crystal per second if you buy 100 crystal for 500 credits)

Ice planets.... played a random map today that gave me 4 ice planets within the first hour and zero volcanic ones >.>

I'm currently at like 6 ice planets, 2 terran, 1 desert, and 1 volcanic, excluding asteroids/moons

You can always spam the buy crystal button though, that's what I always do

You can also look for neutral asteroids,  they have pretty intense extraction rates and don't factor in allegiance.

It also has to do with how late they get there crystal resource tech. That thing is so expensive.

And you really need too much crystal to research it in the first place...

The nice part is that advent can actually use their tier 0 (disciples) which cost only credits and metal to even it out.

While i wont say disciples are as bad as they were, because they are not anyone more since LRF's are forced to come severely later in the game. They are still not that viable as a standard unit to build until the enemy starts to build flak to counter your corvettes. The steal antimatter is nice though, I believe it works on Titans as well.
