Separate AI intelligence from bonuses

Forgive me if this has already been suggested, but I think that it would be an excellent idea, especially because this game has a little while to go as a beta, to separate the computer production bonuses from the computer intelligence. I know that the AI settings are a bit cooky right now, but it would greatly facilitate us testing whether or not the AI does really smart or really stupid things without having to deal with hordes of enemy units - or with, if we want to test balance issues with AIs of differing intelligence.

That is, when starting a game AI would have two settings. One for competence/intelligence, and one for production/unit/etc. bonuses.

The two aspects can always be recombined later.

Usually "Normal" is the full AI with no bonuses. Frogboy said as much but I am not 100% what FE is using right now (for example, it could be Hard is the full AI in the current beta, I don't know). You should just play on normal and not worry about it.

In the current build, "challenging" is full AI with no bonuses.

Yes, but even on the easiest settings the CPU sovereigns get several free level-ups (=bonuses).

From observation it appears that the CPU does not have a fog of war either.

I would not be surprised if the computer players get other bonuses.

Oh, but these would be different bonuses than those referred to in the setup tooltip?

Personally I always thought that every game should have this option atleast as advanced option for theyre games, I always want to play vs the most intelligent computer as possible, then modify the Ai buff values accordingly, hate to see AI's to to melee me with mages if putting up the difficulty would stop that.

According to the game, 'challenging' is:

"Challenging AI has slightly buffed units and economic rates along with an increased level of intelligence."

That tooltip is actually for world difficulty and not AI level at all. Don't know why they haven't fixed that yet.

Ah, then in that case, the bonuses for monster strength should also be separated from monster AI upon setup, for the same reasons.
