Mutliplayer games become out of sync

hello,

i have been playing with my friends and having a very fun game, until all of a sudden i say to my friend, i need help, however on their screen the game is entirely diffferent, i mostly have different planets, ships are all switched around. the game is not the same, we are both in the same game, and can talk to eachother and send resources but for some reason, planets, ships and all are entirely switched around and are in different positions. this has happened online and offline in lan. why? is there some sort of fix for this

thanks

Could you be a little more specific on what exactly the differences are? It could be that you're both using different galaxy rotations (one might be viewing it from one angle, the other person might be viewing it from upside-down from that angle). Is this something that happens gradually over time, or does the game suddenly drastically change?

I know what he's talking about

Here's what will happen, on your screen you will see you own planets A,B,C.D and your friend will own planet 1 and 2 however on his screen you only own planets A.B.C and he owns planets 1,2,3,4,5,6 or You will have 8 cap ships but he only sees 5. Some times the game will say that allied Cap ship so and so has died at planet so and so, a planet that the Cap ship may not even be at. Overtime it gets annoying but it doesnt break the game.

Best way to prevent desync is for everyone to close their game and restart the program before starting a new game.

Get all players to zip up the save files and email them to sinssupport@stardock.com.

even if they had just specifically gotten on the game to play together?

alright, what also happens is that, i save the game and it saves it on both players, however if we were to load both games individually, they would be different. i loaded the game at one time, and his game, even though it was different, out of sync it was at a different time, if you get what i mean. like i am at 45 minutes into the game and he is at 35 minutes into the game.

this has happened in both sins of a galactic empire and sacrifice of angels 2, however these mods dont change the game in that way and should not affect the saving of the game
