A simple question about capital ship crews

Is it possible to change the number of capital ship crews required for each capital ships? for exemple, if i add a superduper capital ship, would it be possible to change the cost for about 2 or 3 capitalship crews for each one?

He means Command, not Supply.

It's not possible. The only control we have "right now" is with fleet supply. This may change with Rebellion and Titans, we just don't know much about Rebellion at this point other than what we can speculate.

oh ok too bad then. And another question a little off topic, how can i add new weapon types if possible?

Go to English.str and rename the weapons to whatever you like.

You can also change them to Projectiles, Beams, or Missile type weapons if you copy over the specific modifier lines.

Particle effects change how the weapon looks.

oh ok i didn't know we could do that. But the problem is that it woudl also chnage the name of other faction's weapons using the same weapon type. What i would like is to just add a new one.

I tried in some ship's files to change the weapon type to, for exemple "superplasma" but it would crash ingame.

Yep, that would happen if you tried to make a new one. Unfortunately you have to use existing weapon types, you can only rename them in the string file.

Yeah i just checked other mods with new races. They all have existing weapon types, only the particles were new

Strange because in this game, you can add anything from new race, new ships, new backgrounds... exept for weapon types xD

This is true, but at least 3 valid weapon types are unused by the vanilla game, so you can rename them in the String file without any consequences. See this thread for details.

slotCount - how much fleet supply is used, varies with ship.  Capitalships always cost "1" capital slot.

Somehow, slotCount multiplied by some number probably equals crew aboard, but SOASE doesn't use crew levels, ship performance and stats aren't affected by crew levels.
