What are the differences between Galactic Civ II Ultimate Edition with the Gold Editions ?

Thanks

Gold is Galactic Civilizations II + the Dark Avatar expansion.

Ultimate is everything in Gold + the Twilight of the Arnor expansion

I'm thinking about getting GalCivII, but I want to know if it is better than GalCivI.  I have GalCivI and I fall asleep while playing it.  Tried turning off the music to play music of my choosing but I miss hearing the game effects.  Plus, the graphics could be better.

I am relatively new to the strategy genre.  Other strat game I have I Sid Meier's Civ V, which is quite good.

But I love scifi, space, etc.  I want GalCiv II!  I am going to get it.  Should I??

aeligos, IMHO GC2 (especially Twilight of the Arnor)  is better than GCI.

Look for sales, if my memory is ok, there was a chance to buy GC2:UE for 6 EUR or $ or something like that. I bought mine for, well, 4 $, as attachment to games magazine ;)

I've never played GC1. I have to say I love GC2 though. I've played Gold Edition for the last year or two and just ordered Ultimate and plan to sell the Gold to a friend.

Oh, by the way, does GalCiv II have commentary?  For example, is there a robot voice announcing certain events as you play?

No, but that would be pretty cool.

You will definitely love GC2.

End of aeligos's quote

That would be awesome... Maybe in some big update. =]
