Diplomatic Planetary Acquisition

Hi, Im starting a mod that adds a new mechanic to diplomacy: The ability to ally and eventually acquire planets peacefully. I have a thread going where I was suggesting it.

My intial goal is changing 2 things:

  1. Culture gives diplomatic influence
  2. Being able to engage diplomatically with neutral worlds

I might have to make some kind of UI for #2... im not sure. Once I accomplish this, I'll add some restrictions like no pacts with neutral worlds before I add 2 more:

  1. Through enouph diplomacy and culture, you can acquire a neutral world
  2. Any left over militias can be used for missions similar to pirates

Im posting this looking for any advice as to how to go about this. I have not done a mod of this scale and dont know much about sins (usually just little things like taking 2 mods i like and combining them so they are compatible, changing some colors here and there, etc). It also looks like there is no mod tools for diplomacy?

I thought about something like this before but I'm not sure if it is possible. I'm not sure culture alone can take over planets. If it did everyone would switch to advent. I think whats going to end up happening for me is I'm going to create a sorta of superweapon structure. Basically it'll fire a conversion bullet that will check for planet culture and if it is at least to a certain percent it could be taken over. Which means planets farther from the home world have less chance of being taken over.

End of quote

Most of the tools available will function with Diplomacy, in regards to file  bin to text converters, convertdata xsi, resize tool tools by these people, respectively will work;"harpo 99999",  "Zanyth0x42" & "newboerg"

With these you don't really need anything that "forge tools" provides, other than Galaxy forge  combined with the "Map updater"and Particle forge, which still can be used for Diplomacy.

thanks SuperZEROo,  I actually dont think that I'll need the forge tools as I'm not making a map or doing any special FX.

furzball, The catch is that is only half of what you need to capture a planet and only neutral planets can be captured this way. The other half is diplomacy. To be honest, it seems like it should have been a feature in diplomacy.

I've been thinking about this as a component of one of the races for my mod.  I haven't begun any work on it yet, so I can't offer advice; however, I'd willing to help you work it out.

Let me know.

if  at all possible could you make  it so that you can make an auction bid for a neutral planet, and the higher your diplomatic score the cheaper, the higher max pop the planet the costlier
