3v3 Cataract

Light:

 Rook, UB, EB.

Darkness:

Reg (me), UB, Sedna

 

The game starts I am playing a mines snipe build with emphasis on snipe/trackingbug. UB goes to the exp flag, Sedna to the brilliance flag, and I go to the fortitude flag. I kite the ub out of the lane b/c swift anklet and cap the flag. Rook and EB are in the brilliance lane. erebus and both ub come to the forti lane. I am tagging the rook with snipe when I can. Sedna and I die. all of a sudden (lvl 5 so 2 snipe 1 mine 1 tracking and 1 snipescope) Sedna says that i am a noob reg b/c i should be harassing rook and b/c i dont have lvl 2 mines to harass with(which i get at 6).

AM I A NOOB REG FOR NOT HARASSING THE ROOK ?

My thoughts: (Why I didn' harass the rook)

1. Its brilliant lane just hold the tower and farm we don't need the flag.

2. TELL ME if you want a lane change dont expect me to leave the fortitude lane. I play PUG alot when i change lanes sometimes nobody goes to the forti lane or someone gets ganked.

3. UB, Sedna push him out, gank the tower I can stop a tower gank easily maybe not hold the lane but we can retake later.

4. I'm sniping rook whenever I can without wasting mana losing lane ect. that is harassment.

5. I am the best DG to kill the gold flag tower.

6. (this one depends on UB's build but meh) UB spit rook, ill snipe, attack rook in the farm with armor stacked. HAVE A SIGIL. pop the sigil, kill rook (i have done this several times b/c the rook gets overconfident in his tower farm).

7. COMMUNICATE DON'T JUST CALL ME A NOOB (I was pissed)

(Also don't tell me my build sucks it fits my play style)

Meh I was the rook in this game. I always go mana flag because it helps with towers + experience. I don't know what to tell you all I know is you shouldn't of turned around at your mana flag when I had boulder and UB was chilling behind me with spit. Ill post the replay if you want me to so people can discuss it. Let me know.

Sounds like someone was mean to you on the internet.  My first advice is to not take it so hard.  Random anonymous opinions shouldn't get to you so bad.

Secondly, you are not the best DG to kill the gold flag.  Erebus with minions will do that a lot faster, under similar circumstances (No enemy in lane). Just because you can do it 'safely' doesn't mean you are best at it.

Thirdly, don't blame all lack of communication on your allies.  If you start a game and chat strategies, and ask questions, they will do it more likely as well.  It can be a very good habit to get into as well.

Lastly, Regulus is generally a strong matchup vs Rook, due to rook being the easiest to Kite.

yeah this may have come across as that but  i more want to know what i should have done, gone to the other lane?

we didnt have an erebus and if i can kill the tower without wasting mana or taking damage i can kill the tower and hold the lane more effectively thats what i mean by best.

True (theres always a but) randomly calling me a noob b4 you tell me what you want me to do is not a good way to get good strategy communication going. If i call my team mate a noob b/c he didnt lock X flag while we were there and he assumed i had the lock is that my fault or his (i think its both ppls fault so ya its partly my fault v_v )

thats true but in my experience (not a lot) once the tower farm gets going in order to kite i have to go into the farm thus i still have the same trouble as other dgs

The big problem there is that UB and Ere are the two best counters to reg -  the UB just dominates a reg with spit, and Ere can just batswarm/bite him to death.  You messed up by playing a Reg in that matchup.

Reg is the best DG IMO to handle the tower farm - at least at low level.  Once your grunts get into the mix, you throw down mines to clear out their grunts.  The mines will also damage multiple towers.  Now you are in a position where your grunts are soaking up tower damage while you shoot down the towers from a distance.  Rook can put up more towers, but you should be able to clear those quick while he runs out of mana.

You are the only DG on your team that can mass clear their grunts and shoot down the tower farm while not being exposed to the Rook.  Sedna and UB can't do it.  At some point UB and Sedna will have enough armor to double team and take down the rook regularly, but that is not until later in the game.
