Okay so when I first got the game I discovered the galaxy forge on the website and I had enough trouble getting it working and figuring it out the first time and when I finally got my pride and joy maps uploaded to work in game, I downloaded the new update and they were all rendered useless.  So I thought I'd upload them again but long story short I can no longer add any maps from the site or from galaxy forge and to make things better, I cant even use galaxy forge anymore.  Whenever I try to open it, adobe acrobat opens up and says that the file doesn't work in this program (well duh its not supposed to).  So I can't make any maps, and I can't download any maps and since I've tasted the awesomeness that is having these awesome downloadable maps and my own creations played in game, I can't stand going back to the mediocre maps provided by the devs.  SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME! Show a noob some compassion.  I'm sure its user error and probably nothing wrong with the software.

btw I have entrentchment so I'd like a solution that will allow me to make maps for entrenchment as well.

let me put another update, I've been messing around with stuff and I found my original version of galaxy forge (v 1.0) and I got it to work but the maps still will not upload to the ingame map lists.  I'm assuming its got something to do with not be the most updated version of gf.  So that leaves me with the same problem that I can't get the new gf to download right.  It won't open, it goes to adobe acrobat.

assuming you have sins 1.16/entrenchment 1.02 and want the maps to show in BOTH sins & entrenchment you NEED to place the galaxy's in the GalaxyForge folder which hides next to the mods folders.

here is some instructions that I have been giving out for a while now

first you will want/need a either or both winrar and 7zip ot extract files then download and install galaxy forge from the sins download page
assuming you have sins 1.16/entrenchment 1.02,  the galaxy forge maps NEED to be placed here for xp
C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge

or here for vista/windows 7
C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge.

NOTE the first two folders after the 'user name' are hidden , so to see them you must first click on 'tools' then 'folder options', then 'view', then click on 'show hidden files& folders' then click ok, then you will be able to browse your want to the folder. I suggest when you find the folder that you create a shortcut to it on the desktop

also the galaxy forge maps only show up in the galaxy forge tab of map types

and if a map you want to play was released before 25th feb 2009 then you will also neet the sins map updater from here
