Is there a box?

Call me old fashioned, but i like to have a box and disc for my games. I want to make sure I can play if my computer spontaneously explodes and i get a new one or have to borrow one or whatever. I even buy a brand new virus software box every year because i dont like the idea of download on top of download on top of download for more than a year. Now, games dont update that much, but still, an expansion is like an update on a disc. And its all fine to say I can come to your site and download the game if i have to install it again...... But how can I be sure that 10 years from now when I get the urge to play that site will still be there?

So anyhow, i seen the Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment, but cant seem to find anywhere whether theres a box, or if its availble in stores or any of that. I can understand if there is no box as it is very cheap. However, if there is a box and it costs more, i would go get that one instead.

I always type too much

Simple version: Is there a boxed version available for Entrenchment?

Heres a quote from the fileplanet article announcing Entrenchment back in September

"What makes Entrenchment particularly interesting from a business perspective is that despite the amount of new content and goodies the team is including, this expansion (which will be priced for digital download at $9.95) is only one-third of the "true" expansion. According to Wardell, even as the Ironclad crew works to finish up Entrenchment, the foundation is already being laid for two follow-up titles that will beef up the game's more peaceful options including robust new diplomacy tools, add new ships and new technologies, and possibly also include the long-awaited single-player campaign. The idea is to eventually combine the three expansions post-release into a large package that will be released at retail."

If that information is still correct there will be the option of getting a box and such for it when the other two portions are released, but it's going to be a while before that is the case.

If you want a disk, you can use teh "Download aand Archive" option in Impuse and burn that onto a CD.  Just right-click on teh app before downloading.

thank you both for your responses.

I know release dates are tricky, but I'm wondering if there is any super super tenative release info for the retail meta-expansion? like, should they all be done by the end of this year? I am not going to complain if and when a tenative date changes.

End of Zubaz's quote

But unlike a retail CD.  There is no garentee that impulse will be working some time in the future, and that your archives will un-archive some time in the future.  For those that think this wont/cant happen.  The current archives are sketchy at best to use, and currently dont work on windows 7.

Oh no, it's not Windows 7 compatible?  Somebody save the children!

Let us not forget, Win7 is still Beta and not fully supported yet.
