particle forge not working

keep getting error message when i launch it

i dont know what is wrong, but i keep getting an error message when i start particle forge (galaxy forge works perfectly)

i get a shutdown error, any ideas what could be going wrong?
"ParticleForge.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I'm fairly certain it needs to be run from the Sins install folder (where Sins of a Solar Empire.exe) is. I would normally say to update your .net framework, but if Galaxy Forge works this should, too. Still, might not hurt to check.

hmm i copied the files to the SOSE directory, still was the same problem, where can i check my .NET framework version?

It should show up in Add&Remove programs. You can always just go to Microsoft's site and download the latest update, I think it's .NET 3.5 now, and these things require 2.0.
