Disabling view outside of gravity well

I believe the Distant Stars mod is what you are looking for.

I need a mod for it? There's no in-game option?

Checked it, that's not what I want. I'm simply looking for a way to take decent screenshots by disabling the view of planets outside of the gravity well that I'm in.

Yeah, I don't know of an option you could do that easily.

As for pointing you to wrong mod, my bad. Names aren't everything.

Galactic UI v1.0b is the one I was thinking of. Other planets appear as somewhat bright dots when far away.

I found the mod, and it works for what I want, but it's kinda a temporary fix, because playing the game with the planets always appearing as dots when zoomed out is a bit of a pain.

All the screenshots I have seen taken of the game have no planets in the background (on both this site and others), so there must be an option...

Does cinimatic mode not do it?

Cinematic mode does not do it, nor does disable UI.

I think those screenshots were at a certain angle or something.

You know a way to do it, through the mod given to you.

The screenshots are all actually probably taken at an angle where the other planets are out of view, or close enough that they are actually planets, not the icon. Either that or on a mod that disables distant planets.

We are trying to help, but as far as i know there is no quick way to switch between having the visible or not. Try Photoshopping a black box over the planets in your screenshots   

Ok, well I guess I'll stick to the mod for when I want to take pretty looking screenshots.
