Where are all the players?

I know its summer, but come on, I had some free time this weekend, so I popped on ICO and to my shock there were 6 people online (TOTAL) and 4 of them were AFK... I came on 4-5 times over the Saturday-Sunday period and the numbers were the same, with the most people online on Saturday mid-day.

Is SINS in a bit of a summer slump? Is everyone waiting for the 1.1 beta? Or what?

I myself took a break from sins in March after having played it pretty much non-stop since Beta1 thru the final retail release. I come back and find that no one seems to be playing anymore...  :NOTSURE:

This was one of my favorite gaming experiences ever, from the not fun beta 1,2,and then fun beta 3 and onwards, there were tons of people playing, and going by sales estimates there should be more online than 6 people.

Anyway I even went into the clans area of the forum and that too for the most part seemed dead.

I am hoping with the eventual expansion and single player that the game will get a fresh breath of life.

Anyone know whats going on?

Beats me. I'm playing single player and staying there.

The game seems to have about 120-150 online during North American prime time. Remember, the people who are off playing the game aren't shown in the Lobby channel window.

its not too surprising when you consider the games scale, its fun online but ive found a lot of people ive spoken to who own the game tend to stay away from online games against people they dont know cause of the games scale

We're not extinct. We're just hiding.

I don't have nearly enough free time to play much Sins right now. Expect to see me a little more come the end of the summer, trying to develop my online chops a bit.

I'm not online as much as I used to be since the 1.05 update my dump rate has increased. Im pretty much waiting for 1.1 to become more active.

We're hiding from you, koscy, because we can smell you logging on before you even hit the button!

Id play multiplayer, ive got tons of free time, but everytime I try to connect it disconnects me. Any help to connect to multiplayer would help (I have norton 2008, I mention this because norton causes a lot of problems in other programs.)

thx in advance.

Definitely sounds like a probable cause.. is the game set as permitted under the Norton firewall? Or just try disabling it as a quick test.

I think the biggest issue is the hosting problems. I have a dynamic IP, for example, so even forwarding the special ports doesn't allow me to host (I think). Once the patch is out I'll be hosting all sorts of 1v1s and 2v2s (I don't prefer 10 player games that go on for 6-10 hours)

I hear from a lot of people online on other forums, play this game with a set group of friends on a regular basis.

I do the same, usually I just find a friend or two, make a time to meet up, or when I see them log on we hop in a game.

I have not had a random match game in about 4 months or so, if you really wanted to play online regularly your best bet is to get some friends or get involved with those types of groups.

This is a common misconception games with a lot of players don't take more than 2-3 hours thats like standard all round sins time. You forget each team or each player is trying to wipe each other out its not like a game against the AI where they co exist for hours before killing each other off.

I'v said it before, sins can't be played like a normal game.

Sin burn.
