XFIRE crashs Sins

Well, xfire just crashed an online Sins match...AGAIN! I asked around and apparently a few ppl have had it happen. I'm assuming xfire will take care of it, and I doubt its an issue with Sins itself. I dont really know, I just wanted to see if anyone knew what was up.

xfire does this with a number of games. It happens randomly and so far they've seem little interested in fixing the problem.

It has been crashing hl2 based games for over a year.

I crashed tonight running xfire. The only reason I still run it is to coordinate mplayer games.

The xfire team also has a tendency to blame the game developers for the crashes when it's pretty clear it's xfire's fault. It's pretty sad.

Hate to break this to you, but there is IRC (also accessible from SDC) and ICO. Also, if you are a steam user, steam doesn't crash sins and (obviously) "hl2 based games" (Source engine games).

Xfire seems to have a nasty history of making selective games crash, it was severe enough for me to stop using it. Mind you it wasn't very often but between crashing mid-game and being able to chat with friends I picked the former. :P

Yes Xfire does this to a lot of games. And their exemption software seems to run even after you turn the damn thing off! I got the Xfire report screen after few crashes where I had deliberately turned Xfire off. Needless to say the "what I was doing" box got filled with some selective profanity!

XFIRE (when i used to use it) would crash my sins game DAILY! This got so annoying I obviously now don't use Xfire at all.

WARNING:
DO NOT use xfire if you are running SINS OF A SOLAR EMPIRE.

XFIRE sucks to me now. It ruined some amazing games.

Steam can't run Sins as a shortcut it blanks out all the text. Don't really care as I only have steam for hl2 deathmatch. Steam can run in the background but no messaging in game for chatting gamers in Sins.

I like Xfire but I guess I will have to exit it when playing Sins when I get it back again. Is it only for Multi or the game entirely?
