is it possible for you to be spawned as player0?

it's my first time tinkering the galaxyforge and i've been trying to spawn in single player as player0... it seems that player# is being given by random... and yes i'm trying to gain advantage... serious advantage against the AI

If you set teams in the map's player settings and play with them locked, it should put you in the appropriate spot.

Is there any other way to determine which player spawns as which player #?

I assumed it would be determined by the location you put yourself/others/CPU in the player list on the map.

IE, the person at the top of the player list would be "player0", the 2nd person would be "player1," etc.

Does SINS assign starting locations randomly?

Locking teams would not allow me to be player0. It still assigns the locations at random maybe?

The first load of my 6 player map with everyone on a different team and 5 AI put me at player5. The 2nd load with the same teams/settings as the first put me as player1 or player2, I'm not sure which one as they are both symmetrical.

The starting locations have been randomized since 1.01. You need to set the TeamIndex field on the Player Settings of the map in Galaxy Forge to the correct team (-1 = no team, 0 = team 1, etc. etc.) and then possibly use fixed teams to ensure that you spawn in the right place.

Doesn't fixed teams affect diplomacy as well though? I'd rather not lose diplomacy options at the expense of fixed starting locations.

Thanks for the hint btw :)

It does, hence "possibly". It may not be necessary, but you can never be too careful.

What i found with this is that you can set the races to start in certain locations in the map, such as Tec player 0 starting on planet whatever, etc. the races will appear in the correct starting locations but the players could be assigned to any race when starting a new game. I just keep restarting the game until i get the players where i want them.

I will try setting all players to team index 1 to see if that fixes it for me. thanks.

Uh, question' You set everyone to team 1, dont you think that would allie all players??? and end the game in victory maybe? its been doing this silly thing to me over and over now..Where is this LOCK teams option unless you're just refering to "Placeing" each player as "1" to set a locked team.
