NextGen has just posted a short interview with Frogboy about the Sins franchise
and SD/IC standards for success.

"As development costs rise and the emphasis on "million-sellers" increases, Brad Wardell with PC developer Stardock said he would be quite content with a release that sells 100,000." - Kris Graft

The whole baldur's gate style RPG has me drooling. I didn't care quite so much for the original, but the only reason I'm not playing SoA and ToB has more to do with technical issues than me being bored with them.

There's actually a game in a similar vein to Baldur's Gate currently in production by an Indie game development group made up of some of the top modders in the BG2 community. There isn't any set date for a release as of yet, but given the individuals involved track record I don't doubt that it will be released eventually.

I know I'll be picking up a copy when it does come out as I know it will be a quality game.

Please do make additional time for a Baldur's Gate type of game. That would be excellent! Anyone with $8 million to spare? :D

Turn-based fantasy...yay!
End of quote

Yeah, we're all drooling over not-MoM. And the MMORTS. And Demigod looks fun, too.

I *really* wish they would come out and say the name of their turn-based fantasy...I'm so tiered of calling it Not-MoM :p.

"What to know more? Then follow the link."

Can you change that to "Want" instead of "What"? It is really bugging me and it is one of the first things people will read looking at your website. While I am at it I noticed your game description on Gamestop looks bad too:

"Ten millennia have passed since you and the few survivors of the once mighty Vasari Empire fled from a mighty yet unknown threat that all but exterminated your kind's inexistence."

Might want to change that last word to "existance". Tacky. I love you guys, sorry to play spelling Nazi today but someone has to now that you guys are swimming with the big fish.

"...There hasn't been that many [RPGs in that style]," he said. "I don't understand it, because I think there's still a market," he said, adding that a well-produced RPG in that vein could sell 200-300,000 units worldwide on a budget of $6-8 million.

... I suddenly want to work at Stardock as a writer :p

Poor Spartan... people are picking on the Dyslexic person again!

Me too, Uranium. But, unfortunately, once they pay my salary of $5.5 million, there's not that much left to build the game with. :(

@Caedwyr - Thanks for the link.I'll check them out. I'm a big huge fan of BG.

BTW: I'm so stoked for DragonsAge I cant quite put it into words yet.

@Sarcerok - Sorry for the typo. What can I say, those 3:00AM posts will get often bite you in the ass. Anyway, it is fixed.

@Uranium - 235 - get in line brother; get in line...

@Ron - that error my friend was simple a combination of being tired and fingers not keeping up with the brain. It was totally my fault. I tried to edit it but could not since I posted it in the News forum. Now it is in the general forum I was able to edit it.
