Spamming a-hole

Hello

Here is the deal, I started Sins today and went to ICO chat. To my surprise I saw some guy spamming the same message over and over again. Here is the pic. I went back 10 mins later and he was still doing this. This kind of thing needs to be punished.

Whats doubly odd is he's at work at the moment, so he CAN'T be online in Sins. I'm trying to dig him up on MSN right now, but it sounds like someone has either hacked his account, or created a false name of some kind.

Possibly another incarnation of minidump or something similar?

I would've thought the first name he'd take is that one :P Especially since I thought GE agreed not to use spaces for easier whispering.. who knows :P

Someone has a huge problem with clanners, or clans are getting out of control. At least they're not running around trying to 'close the pool'. It seems to me that this place has been overrun with clanners and someone has turned into a vigilante. It may also be related to the DOS attacks weeks ago or someone wanting to stir up drama with the easiest people to stir up (clanners). You can ban and block people like this all day long, but they will get through somehow, someway--they always do.

However, it is possible your GE friend here is at work and playing the game from work. It can be run in a window and there are a myriad of ways to prevent your boss from catching it. I'm at work right now too and my boss will never know I visit here to post.

he cannot play at work, sometimes he's even too busy for MSN so a constsnt spam is out of the qiestion. also, when we started it was agreed with a space in your name, I have replays if you want. Para is under the special thanks section in the manual and you could ask anyone that knows him and they will tell you he would never act like that.

Yeah, agreed there. Which sounds like an attack hack.

I'm cahtting with him right now, and its starting to look more and more like a hack. I'll deal with this later, I need to go do stuff now.

Telling everyone that it's very very unlike him. After the beta I haven't been in touch with him as much as during, but it definitely is not the behavior of the guy I know. Still pretty strange with the name, and I know you use a space :o

What puzzles me is.. why him? He doesn't even post here to piss anyone off :P

Still going on, the perpetrator (whomever it may be) is posting at a rate that's roughly once per two seconds. The recent surge in spam on ICO is a source for worry to say the least...

I'm considering setting up an automated macro script telling everybody to go to the Pirate Base, until the spam stops... At a much slower rate (once every 30 seconds) naturally...

Maybe we ticked someone off in ICO. I know he used to play a number of matches of GE Vs pubs, so its possible (I can't figure out how to phrase this non-arrogantly, please forgive me) that the superior skills of GE members may have offended someone.

Or it may just be a crime of opportunity -- perhaps Para was somehow vulnerable to this attack where no one else was.

Yes, you may find its a disgruntled person who you (or we or both of us) defeated in a game. You guys play well...perhaps he is trying to drag your clan's name down along with ours. I'd just like to add that AoH is a very friendly and decent clan with really good people as members and we would never spam. I've made a lot of friends there since I joined and we've had contact with the leader of GE, who I doubt would ever sanction such behavior.

Being a clan member has helped me avoid people who simply quit when the game gets tough, and we've had many good games as a group despite being a new clan.

So please know, its not us, he's just trying to annoy people and spoil everyone's fun...unfortunately.

Keep well.

Hah! His name is the manual, sweet.

I don't suppose it could be some sorta recruitment bot gone haywire? I've seen some pretty f*ck*d up things happen when the whole "bots gone wild" situation occurs(though not with this game yet).

they got him, so its safe. and i'm pretty sure its a bot.

uhm, not a bot :P

The troll has been dealt with on ICO. Let me know if there are any further issues (and yes, it wasn't really Para, it was Minidump).

Much <3 for the powers that be :P

Thanks for sorting all that out :-)

That Minidump guy deserves to have his balls removed so that he can’t pass on his crappy genes. Truely, that guy is a retard and has nothing better to do then troll.

Thank you for dealing with this issue.

And my apologizes to Para for blaming him, as I didn’t know that he a ok guy, because I have never before seen him in a game.
