Makes games and especially battles much faster

I've created a mod to speed up the game and generally increase the action, a quick overview of changes is:

10 times turn rate for all ships
only 15% shield mitigation for all ships except
up to 35% shield mitigation for capital ships
Ships move ~3 times faster, and accelerate much faster
Research and resource collection ~50% faster
Build times are same as original
Pirates don't attack for 150 minutes (This is just because I hate pirates, could easily change it, although I think you should be able to choose to turn off pirates on all maps).

This mod is designed to be played on fast speed only, slow and normal speed are both the same as original fast speed, except for mitigation, pirates and turn speeds.

Full changelog and installation instructions included.

Played using this mod in a 2v2 with a friend. Really great work, if this game is to ever become competitive the upcoming patch needs to be something like this.

If the upcoming patch is anything like this, I know that I and quite a lot of people will stop playing or just mod the speed back down... At least if changes like those are made for all speeds. If would be an additional 'faster' setting, I wouldn't care. (Though I'd request an additional 'slower' setting as well.)

I dont have time for 2+ hour games, and I know there are a lot of people who want this game speeded up. And what aries said is true, if the games are taking 2+ hours minimum it just won't become a big competitive game

The mod description sounds nice!

Although I enjoy the game as it is (though I prefer the fastest options), I like the idea of making it a little bit more fast-paced.

I'm not too sure about those values, seems a bit too much to me. Maybe 5x turn rate and double speed/acceleration maximum?

Oh, and the devs shouldn't change much of the gameplay in future patches, if anything at all. Including even slower/faster gamemodes may be okay, but changing the pace of the current ones would probably be counterproductive, since it seems to me that most players are pretty much happy with the game as it is now.

Didn't play the mod yet, but I'm downloading and testing it as soon as I get home.

That's what I thought at first, but the standard turn rates are rediculously slow. One of the things that really anoyed me before is the best way of retreating was to run straight past their fleet, as you could jump out the other side before they had finished turning :/

how can i play this mod after the 1.3 patch comes up. i downloaded it last week and whenever i start a game everyone is defeated upon the game starting up. any ideas how this can be fixed?
