im curious why someone wanting to fix my game liking to crash on maps with more than one star would require my cdkey?
i dont really understand why this person wants the gameinfo folder either looking at it there would be nothing unique to my install, no data that was generated by the game after i installed it.
they seem to be generic files everyone would have the exact same copys of..

maybe they think my cdkey is faulty and thats the cause of my problems  ;) ? lol

anyway i told them to contact stardock and ask if my email address is tied to a cdkey if they just want to check if i own a legit copy, because it seems dodgy to me and ive never heard of a games customer support department asking for a persons cdkey over a game randomly crashing every 3-5 hours

It sounds like they are worried there's a problem with your install. Checking the gameinfo directory is the easiest way for them to make sure. The CDkey is likely to make sure you didn't warez it, since a surprising number of people who pirate games ask tech support for help issues caused by the warezing. Heh.

I guess...but they should easily be able to get that from an email address, AND it's more secure.

Some people don't register their cdkey to their email.

Pretty much what stratobot and Windexglow said.  Not to say that your copy isn't legit, but you'd be amazed by how many support requests we've gotten from people who clearly stole the game.  :(

You should tell them to format c:\.
