Was this supposed to happen?

1) How did an enemy fleet appear at my home world with every system protected by weaponry and they didn't go through... My home world was at the bottom left hand corner , they just appeared out of nowhere.

2) I captured the pirate base and i didn't get anything special , actually i got nothing was i supposed to?... I even explored the base

I was using SinsMOD 0.01 at the time though..

1) There is a tech that lets you have more, longer routes between planets, that way they could take a route that you could not see.

Huh? All routes are visible from the start, and barring wormholes and star travel you can take all of them from the start.

If the enemy was grey it was likely the TEC Insurgency tech.

2) You should get pirate loot which gives... 2.5c/s bonus I think.

If you didn't get that, it's likely a bug.
