Yeah, was out earlier and noticed my fav puter store was open....huh, on Boxing Day??? Well I went in to wish Pat, the owner, a great day and a happy New Year if I didn't get to see him beforehand, etc, etc.

Well, as always, the conversation gravitated towards computers and etc... and the next thing I know I'm walking out with a new ViewSonic 19' LCD monitor for AU$250. I think Pat was just as surprised as I was... he was showing/telling me about this new Gigabyte mobo that'd go perfectly with an Intel Core Duo I've had my eye on for a while now... and the next thing he knows is that I'm handing over the cash for the monitor... no warning or indication I was even interested....

OK, so it was an impulse buy, but I'm as happy as a hog in muck with my purchase and just had to come crow about it here cos I felt like so much crap yesterday. ;)

Oh, and before anyone says: "Why didn't you get a bigger one?"...my eyes are real close together and I wouldn't be able to see both sides of the screen...'specially when I gits meself all cross eyed on the Playboy site. :d :LOL:

Nah, truth is, a larger one wouldn't fit in the pigeon hole on my desk, not with my speakers as well, so the 19" is perfect and just what I wanted... and my regular 19" Samsung is now hooked up to another rig I just finished assembling from mostly old parts, just got to load XP Home and Ubuntu on it and I have me a spare to play with.

Well that just about covers it for now, so see ya's 'round like a cartwheel. :)

Whatcha mean...too damned sanitary!!! The desktop hasn't been polished since yesterday .... and my puter chair hasn't been sanitised/disinfected since before Xmas.

Nope... to save on laundry, I wears 'em fer two days... one out the right way, and the other inside out. :LOL:

***hmmmm, maybe if I hold off on puter parts next payday, maybe I can afford to own more than two pairs of jockeys**** :LOL:

Oh, and they're not in/out boxes...those drawers are where I keep my A4 printer paper. ;)

I haven't quite finished setting things up the way I want them... and with more lights on the agenda, it should be quite a night sight with the main room lights turned off. I will post some more pics when I've got it all done. :)

I have enough trouble keeping an eye on one screen - with this setup I would never know for sure what was going on where. :p

Oi, that's nothing to brag about.... I could have brought home 4 or 5 of those cardboard monitors they use for advertising as well... oh, and while I was at it, a couple of those cardboard towers to really set it all off. :LOL:

And the desk... call that a desk??? Nah, if I were trying to impress people with my cardboard cutouts like that, at least I'd have a proper desk to show 'em off on. I mean, there's no point bragging if yer don't go the whole hog, ya know. If I were you, I'd be off down to the nearest furniture store and checking to see if they have any cardboard display desks I could have to complete the picture. :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

Seriously, tho...looks like you got some nice gear there...with plenty of screen real estate to keep things interesting. :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:

My decision to go no larger than 19" has been vindicated... last night I was looking at a centerfold who was spread out on a sheepskin rug, and if had I gone with the 22" I'd have had difficulty telling if her toenail polish matched her eyes. :d :)
