Q: game settings - mega events off

I have a question about turning the mega evnts off before a game. Does this also turn off those other events, i guess they're minor events? Like where you influence income double or something.

How do you know which events are major and which are minor?

It won't shut off minor events.

It's hard to tell just by looking at an event to tell, but if it has a bigger cousin like the pirate event, it's easy to tell. 1 fleet of avg ships vs 50 fleets of uber ships.
