Developer Request - Floating extractors on asteroids

I have a small request. We've been having reports of Extractors floating a bit off resource asteroids. What we would like, is if somebody comes across this, save the game and please email Ironclad the File. The files are large for saved games, zip it up and email it. The file should be only a few megs.

Thanks

yeah, noticed it to. unfortunately my computer wont take the pictures, so I cant help.

although I'll note that it does happen mostly on the really oblong asteroids, not the rounded out ones.

while we're at it, anyone else want to note some visual falacies (for instance I have seen that the asteroids sometimes come out of their shielded zone and that the repair platform can be placed close enough to asteroids to be put in their shield.)

Well I'm not sure if this counts but I was colonizing an asteroid and my colony ship shot it's little pods through another floating asteroid infront of it, I first thought it was trying to colonize the smaller one for some odd reason.

I've also seen ships simply fly through things like asteroids, other ships and a few other minor clipping issues I'm not sure if that's visuals or simply waypathing problems.

Dear SchematicNinja,

PrintScreen fails !

Instead use a recording program i call FRAPS (well okay everyone calls it that)

Here is a link to the program. Take those picture and help out iron clad !

This could help anyone else willing to take the picture, please help out IronClad !

What we can do since the replay function still doesnt work is just play a quick games just to specifically look for that error. Take screen shots of extractors being built (print screens do work the shots are stored in your application data/ironclad folder), and send the saved game. Im playing a game right now just to look for this problem.

EDIT: Ive played 2 full games, and didn't see the problem of the OP. Bases all look like they are setting right.

look at their feet, its not like they float above the asteroid, rather like a table who isnt on flat ground.

and where would such a folder be? for all I can tell I dont have one, I've run a search under both names and only turned up the ironclad logo and the ironclad opening. thats in addition to hand checking every file in my documents, stardock and totalgaming.

what i noticed is:

when you build a shield generator and activate it...the dish points out the other way (away from the planet)

already been pointed out in the technical thread.
and the photos of the error: it happens on more than one asteroid type, but this is only one I'm gonna bother to post

I am assuming you found the screenshot folder since you posted some pics

What i was looking for was exactly like what shots you posted, and i didnt find any problems like that. All the extractors (yes i checked every single one on the map) were centered, and all 4 feet planted firmly on the ground. Ill keep checking as i play, but so far i havnt seen anything like that. Its wierd that would happen on 1 computer, and not another

no, its not there
I used the FRAPS thingy.

not really, you either didnt look carefully enough, or it was random occurance that you didnt get one

they are quite common.

Umm guys I don't think they wanted screenshots, I think they want a savegame file. Could be wrong if so, feel free to lash me with a wet noodle as many times as you want .

its because you are protecting space and not the planet!

The screenshot you sent us is an alignment issue with the model, it can be fixed easily. Thanks

I am however curious if anyone has seen it floating moreso than that. I've seen it before. I want to know if anyone out there has seen it where the extracter is almost totally off the asteroid. That's the file we need. We can't replicate it in house for some reason. We're asking for a savegame.

Thanks for the reply though

yes!

no...

the ones I've seen one of the legs is almost completely off the asteroid. I think because it was placed on the head of a very oblong material roid...
