Air Force? Bah.. I Went Sailor..

Seaman float really well!!

Well.. Long time no see..

I posted long long ago.. that I was going to join the Air Force. I do highly respect my high flying friends.. but after some thinking and talking to relatives, I chose to go Navy.

Hoorah Navy!! ... is the best way to sum it up. I love it here. I'm now Navy through and through. Though I do admit the living quarters could be a 'tad' bigger on ship.. but hey.... the free traveling and the crazy shipboard moments you have all make up for it easily.

So now I'm kinda 'restarting' the blog I have here. Havn't had the chance too in the last uhm... damn.. that long? Been a while to cut it short.

So here's a toast to my new blog *raises his beer*, the life of a Navy Sailor.

*disclaimer*
I can only tell you 'where' I've been to and done, can NEVER put in info about where I 'might' go or will be going... so please no questions about my next tour etc.. since I cannot answer those questions.

Now to post some more blogs to do 'some' type of personal catchup and bore everyone to death ;)

Once upon a time I wanted to join the AF but somehow I ended up marrying a sailor. A sailor who doesn't float. He hasn't been on a boat. I'm a poet and I don't know it. Pathetic - I know. Can you have beer on the boat? Anchors away.

Well admitedly a nice shore duty post would be grand.. but I havn't had that luck yet myself

Nothing pathetic either btw.. and sadly (but for good reasons) we can't have beer on the 'SHIP' (I'll exscuse you since you have a squid hubby LoL). When your in control of literally a billion dollars worth of equipment they don't want you to be drunk or even tipsy. It definately makes sense.. and the fact that we truthfully 'can' be attacked at any time makes the reason for staying sober just THAT much more important. I do admit I love my drink, but I definately would rather keep my bi-monthly paycheck coming than to drink on ship..

my hubby works on big airplanes that are too big to land on aircraft carriers. It ended up being a wise choice.

I didn't think you were allowed to have beer on the ships. Just wondered.

And thank you too, PareTed2k. My brother is in the Army and I know just how much they go through. Any service to our cause is a good service in my opinion.

Wise decision, yes. I don't mean to be any bit derogative when I call him a squid. There are many, many, Sailors who would LOVE to be squids. We just get used to the fact that we joined the Navy and that we will be on ships for most of our term/career.

Thanks for the comments!

I'm to be stationed very soon on DDG 57 Mitscher, A 10 year old Destroyer. Sorry for the slow time of the responce. Am trying to cram all the fun I can into my leave that I can and havn't devoted much of my freetime to the computer.

No Problem.  Write what you can!  I will be interested to read it.  And congrats!  Navy Rules!
