Nethog's Tech Tree for GalCiv2

I created a 2-pager tech tree to serve as a planning aid when playing GalCiv2. You can download a PDF of the tech tree at my website here

Link

It has been updated to match the v1.1 beta. Please let me know of any errors or how it can be improved. I am new to GalCiv so go easy on me if you find any obvious errors. Also, I have not played through a full game yet using the tech tree (too busy creating the darn tech tree ). I did use the xml data files to harvest all of the info.

I think it is only appropriate to add this link of the original Master of Orion II tech tree. You can see how the tech tree is a little more balanced (i.e. between social, development, and warfare techs). GalCiv 2 is heavily skewed towards combat, moderate on social, and very light on development.

Not very big on the planet development, were they?

I wish I had known this before I bought the game. Not really a space exploration and expansion game - more of space extermination game (i.e. very light on "fog of war", limited initial starship range, etc). You pretty much start the game knowing where every star system is, how many planets each system has, and after the briefest scouting mission, which planets you will be playing with for the rest of the game.

The beauty of the beginning of each MOO game:
1) Heavy fog of war
2) You had to explore star systems before you knew how many / the makeups of their planets
3) Extremely limited range of initial star ships
4) Once a ship was launched into hyper space, you could not turn it around until it reached its destination...

MysticX:

You know that they added a new option to 1.1 where you can hide the influence spheres until you make contact?

4) Once a ship was launched into hyper space, you could not turn it around until it reached its destination...

God, I *hated* that!
