Brilliant Music

I thought the music in GalCiv 1 was sort of mediocre and repetitive, but am finding this music very inspiring. Actually it reminds me in its style a little bit like Lord of the Rings, and that is a HIGH compliment indeed. Whoever composed the music - Kudos!

Just got an email from Mason Fisher (the composer of the music) and was sure to pass on the praise the players are giving the music (of which I agree...the music he did was fantastic).

Thanks Dano!

Lucky guys! Right now I'm playing the game in total silence. Never had a problem with any game before, and hope it will be fixed when I re-install my hard copy CD on arrival.

rericks: Did you install the Multimedia component from Stardock Central? That has all the music and soundFX, which make the game much more emersive.

Hello all.

I have had Galactic Civilizations since 2004 and have never, ever felt the need to post. But I simply must agree with Dano...the music is extremely well done. In the days leading up to the release of GC2, I took the time to rip and edit some of my own personal favorite sci-fi soundtrack bits (Star Wars, Star Trek...the usual suspects) for use in my custom music selection. However, I have yet to even consider using them in-game because the GC2 music is such a....well for lack of a better description "mood-creator." It really complements the game very well and Mr. FIsher cannot be given enough praise for his work.

Very, very well done sir. You do John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith proud.

There are definitely different songs ... for some reason the score dramatically changed during one of my games. Not sure why, I have been playing Neutral throughout ...
