Downloading the Last Bit

Anyone Else Going Mad-Slow?

I understand that the servers are likely bogged down, but to the point where I can't even start the download of the last 3.5megs?

If that's the case, then that's the case and I understand, but well. . . are there any settings I can mess w/ in this Stardock thing to hopefully go faster?

I CAN"T even see the last bit to download.....

When I clicked on update game button, it took me to Stardock central, and there are no new files for me to download.

Is this normal, or do I need to call tech support or sales?

I having the exact same problem, I can't even see the update. I've checked my serial number. I'm guessing that the Stardock server is being overwhelmed?

I don't see the last bits either, I suspect its just a server load problem... At least I hope so

K, I'll admit, having to waste 5 minutes on downloading EULA.txt kinda bugged me

If you can't see the update change the server seetings under Tools - Settings to San Francisco. At least that helped my sister.

We're in the process of extending more capacity so it'll take a few minutes for the servers to re-sync. Patience my friends.

Actually, I think that is what the second poster said he did. I am having the same problem. I clicked on run, got the autolauncher with the option of Preload Info, Manual, and Update. I hit update, the launcher minimizes, Stardock becomes the top item and nothing happens.

After of 15 minutes of apperant nothing (I even checked if more files appeared on my Harddrive, my harddrive has as many files as did before), I am even diagnostics mode now, the only data spikes I am getting is my AV program checking for updates and the occassional run file scan that happens, and well this message I am posting.

Thanks for the response, was not there when I started to type my post. No that is a fast response.

Yea, I know. The download has finally made it's way here to St. Louis in CST (central Standard time) at 4:30PM. If the East doesn't have it yet, just wait another half hour to hour, and it will be at your zone too. I think this is to help keep some traffic down, but It isn't helping that greatly. The East will have it the worst because that's where most of the population lives per square mile. Here in the plains and midwest it's much, much lower, so I'm getting loaded up very quickly compared to the Pacific and soon the East. Just a few more minutes left!!!

Well I did not know there was zoning. I live East Coast. Oh well it is too late now. Don't worry I am not miffed at Stardock or anything. I usually am unlucky with PCs and downloads. I buy a 1K PC that did not have a AGP or PCI-X port... in less than 1 year I had to buy another PC. I knew there was something fishy about the 1K model and the 1.2K model, and the salesmen pulled a fast one on me making me think it was only the Harddrive space and initial RAM in the system. Saved 200 dollars to loose 1K later, many nights have past where I contemplating going to that store and shoving my fist into that salesmen nose. All my friends and techies I spoke with were mind boggled that they were even selling PC with only PCI ports and placed this up there with being scamed in the level of "buying the Effiel Tower". The irony is I am the IT guy in the labs at University... so you would think I would not get this sort of misfortune or screwup.

What I mean by too late now, thinking that this download system would never work for me (and again not SD fault, just my sheer misfortune) I decided to uninstall the preload and reinstall the game from scratch. Good news is even if slow, it is working. I guess I should call myself lucky that this route actually works.

I also cannot "update" my pre-loaded copy of the game. I went in IRC for help, but none of the suggestions fixed anything. I'm really hoping to play today and soon.
