Pre Orders and extra content question for Stardock...

To say the least this game looks incredible! Talk about Gamers making games! Just reading the various journals, and posts proves to me that Stardock is in it for more than just money...and how incredibly refreshing that is. And regarding money, you have mine for sure!

Just a question about the pre order bonus materials....

1) Do the extras like the tech map apply to online preorders alone, or can I just pre prder at my local store and grab the extras there?

2) If the bonus materials (such as the tech tree) are only available online, will the extras such as the added ship components be made later available through the proposed downloadable "Bonus Pack" that Brad has been talking about? I realize that nomatter what, there will be added components and goodies available through the Bonus Pack, but will these include or exclude the Pre order extras?

The fold-out tech tree and possibly some other things I can't recall will be available in the collector's edition box, whether you preorder in a store or online. I'm not sure if you'll be able to obtain them without preordering.

I believe the in-game goodies and GC2 desktop theme will be available to all preorder users (including those who get the download-only version through TGN) through SDC after release. Not sure if the downloadables will be available publicly or only to preorderers, you'd have to get a Stardockian for that question.

The extra stuff is included in the collector's edition package. That is available via preorder from some stores in U.S. (sadly, only the U.S. by the sounds of it). You'll likely want to check with the store to be certain that they're offering it. Judging from the Pre-Order page, EB Games, Gamestop, and Walmart will be the best bets to check.

For all the Canadians, my EBGames store (Ailes de la mode, Montreal) says that I should receive the collector's box so don't despair and ask around

Well, I hope the preorders in Europe from Paradox get at least some extra stuff. (At least the orders from Amazon.co.uk)

If not we will ask our good friends the Torians and Altarians to bomb Stardock and Amerika to dust

Well, I would like to say just to follow the game development has been very interessting and risen even higher my esteem for Stardock. Impressive project management, meeting all the deadlines, public beta, developers responding to concerns in the forum etc...wow.
