"Heinz 57"...So, whats your heritage/decent?

Well, my family nickname (don't ask where it came from, its just, been there....) is Heinz 57, why? Well, apparently the very first heinz 57 ketchup was made out of various ingredients (still is...) and people just felt there were too many... (or something like that)
Anyway...My point here is to ask other JUsers what is there decent/heritage?

For me, I am part English(Manchester/Liverpool surroundings), Sioux, Cherokee, Irish(Cork area), Scottish (Edinburgh), Norweigan, Swedish (I think, its on my dads side), French(Alsace-Lorraine area), Prussian (Might actually be german or russian...but as far as i know this is it...) , German (Either Hamburg, or Stuttgart, not sure which), Dutch (Amsterdam area), (For awhile i thought i was "pennsylvania dutch", but found out its not that, its a verbally 'slaughtered' interpretation of Pennsylvania Deustch (Germans who spoke german in that area)...and its believed (but not confirmed) that we have some estonian in us (essentially slavic...) BUT, like i said, its not known to be true...just based on family heresay...

So, fellow JU-sians....From what part of the world is your family from?

(Arn't men from mars, and women venus, if so, that explains a lot) ;) :P

Yeah my dad (a Trinidadian) used to refer to himself as a Heinz variety. Of course I'm even more mixed than he is.

I'm part African (Yaroba - Western Africa), Spanish, Chinese (Hong Kong), French, English (some of the english bit may have been French orginally), Russian Jewish (and or Polish), Welsh and possibly Irish and Carib Indian. I'm Australian. I consider myself human first though, but I love learning about my heritage.

If you go back to the Spanish inquisition I have Spanish roots on my fathers side, but since 1494 nothing but Turkish roots.

I don't know.  I was adopted as an infant and I have no family history.

he family I was adopted into, however, is French.  We are descended (note the spelling, Lucas.  What you have in your title is 'decent', not 'descent') from the illegitimate son of William the Conquerer, and we have castles, mountains and streets named after us.

One of our ancestors also managed to piss off the King and got himself imprisoned in the Tower of London, where he carved his name in the stone wall so's the paeople would know he'd been there (ancient graffiti, hehe)

French, German or Polish (possibly Jewish, we're still not too sure about this side), and some Metis.

I usually just say Canadian, or occasionally, just to mess with people, I say African (what? Technically, since pretty much all human life started out in the Great Rift Valley...)

Trace surname to a 17th century Scottish minister, family immigrated to South Carolina in early 18th century, Fraternal Grandmother English, also 18th century immigration, Paternal lineage 19th century Irish fleeing famine, with Germanic influences after arriving in America.

My children have a little fresher genetic pool as their paternal grandmother immigrated after WWII from Lithuania, so they get a little Slovic influence to mix with our Western European mixture.

Mom is fully Swedish, Dad is half-English and half-German. (That's the easy version.) Ancestors settled in Minnesota, but I moved away. My whole family is still there, except for me & family.

Wife is English, both sides. Ancestors walked across the plains in 1867 to Utah. Her family is scattered, but they congregate towards the West.

I try and play up my Swedish heritage to my kids, considering that makes up 1/4 of their genetics, by taking them to IKEA.

-I remember watching some show about this guy who took an "ethnicity test" to find out about himself. He was always raised as a black man, but it turns out that he didn't even have a bit of "black" in him. He was a bit shocked. (I'd be too)
