Colony Governor Question

I have a gigantic universe with abundant worlds.  Since that makes for a large number of colonies, the game time has lengthened to the point where most colonies have built everything they can.  Some are limited by my resources such as I could upgrade a building if I had more durantium or similar but the only available thing to build for many colonies is research or wealth aid.  What this leads to is that no matter what governor I have running the colony, it keeps asking me what to build each turn which in a way defeats the whole purpose of having a governor.  I should note that this is not Crusade or Intrigue.  So I have two questions for those that know more about this than me.  First, is there any way around this?  I am finding myself having to choose a bunch of research aid to keep from having to make a choice for what to build each turn.  I would like to do something like don't ask for something until I tell you otherwise similar to the selection for a shipyard where you can tell it to stop asking for the next ship to build when the queue is empty.  The second question is that even though I am mining a good bit of durantium, I am always low and cannot find a way to see what it is being used for each turn.  I know the kind of things that use it but I want to see what it is being used for each turn.

if you have the steam version, right click galciv 3, select properties. Go to the beta tab, and select your game version as classic. poof, no more stupid resource bullshit or its associated problems

If by classic you mean no DLCs, then that is what I have.  This is regular Gal Civ 3 version 3.10, not Crusade, Intrique or any other additions.

no, by classic i mean game version 2.33 no resources required for most buildings, no stupid cities or artifical population caps. none of the absurd bs they seem to be happy to shove down our throats because they are delusional enough to think its actually enjoyable mechanics

Did not know that was available.  Thanks for the info.  That is certainly an option but I am not sure I want that.  But I will consider it.
