How do I promote a Citizen?

What type of citizen?

Not all types of citizens have promotions, entrepreneurs come to mind.

had trouble with this myself.  Select citizen, click promote (really dumb path) then find recall in promotion list.  It will cost you 10P to recall back to home world

Recall in promotion is what take them back to general pool. It will cost you 10 Prometien which is damn expensive. I wish it is free but use cooldown period instead.

Yep, I see it now and was able to recall a worker.

What is "cooldown period"?

The amount of time it need to pass before you could do that action again.

Do you mean I have to "catch it at the right time" in order to recall somebody?  Is there a notification for this?

No no no. The Recall itself has no cooldown. I just voice my opinion that Recall should be free with cooldown instead since 10 Promethiun is quite a lot.

Okay, so now I have a little problem with the requirement for Promethion to promote somebody.  I've never heard anybody told, "well, Mr. Isoda, your job performance has been fabuulous these last few solar rotations.  I'd really love to promote you or honor your transfer request, but times are tough and the company is really hurting for Promethion right now.  I'm sorry but I can't afford to transfer you off of this frozen planet either.  Maybe next year things will improve."

That is my main grip about "Recall" need 10 Promethion. I cheat my way out and mod it to be 0 instead. Wish i could add it a cooldown timer on it too or something. The other promotion require resource is fine since it is quite powerful.

I agree.  It is entirely reasonable that it may cost some money to provide for training and/or transportation for the employee to change job roles, get reassigned, or simply go back to "the government" (that's too nebulous; we should just call it the homeworld, which should not be viewed as merely another colony).

But Promethion?  That's kind of silly.  It's like saying we can't promote you or change you to another job role because we just ran out of staples.  Everybody knows that staples are the Promethion of the modern office, right?  Umn, wait; don't we mostly write code and didn't we go paperless last quarter?  Oh, yeah, it's because we're out of coffee cups in the break room.  Don't we encourage employees to bring reusable thermal cups from home?  No wait, it's because we have no more supplies to clean the toilets and urinals; yeah, that's it!  Housekeeping is using your old ties for that....

Well, I'll probably mod it too, but for now I just did three trades, so I have 78 Promethion and 29 Duranthium, since you need the latter to have starbases upgrade themselves. 

Even Duranthium mining starbases require Duranthium to be upgraded.  Wait, what now?
