Odd issue with AI ship building vs tech

Okay so this one is something i have not run into before.

 

I am in a game 500+ turns super slow everything so a lot of time invested. I am at end game. AI has all the techs but for the last 100 turns or so they are still building old out dated designs. My game is modded so i usually just toss all my issues into game is modded i must have done something. But im not sure anything i did would affect this and past games with same mods worked fine.

Is the AI just being stupid building huge hulls filled with harpoons when they have nightmare torpedoes? Or another race has huge hulls and all the weapons but they are spamming medium ships with 3rd level kinetic weapons? I have not changed any blueprints or anything like that.

 

Its like every single of the 12ish AI races are at the end of the tech tree but still building garbage. Looks like i need to dump this 20 hour save but just looking to see if the more experienced people know why the AI would act this way.

 

Sry this really isn't a post looking for a fix per say just throwing it out there.

Theres an issue where some older designs do not get made obsolete, it only seems to happen with modded games (so the devs either dont class it as a bug or its just on low priority). I'll boot up an old save and make a screen shot and you can see what I mean. It sounds like this is what is happening to you.

Seems i have over ridden the saves. I have since messed alot with the blueprints and ship classes to self fix this issue in my mod, Galactic Star Trek which is a total conversion and there is nothing I have not changed :)

Gotcha i was afraid it was something like that.

 

Its too bad have the game exactly how i want it to hold me over until crusade.

Also is there any way the AI will get over this or is this game/save borked?
