sins of a solor empire update?

hello.  I'm the embodiment of newb.  an easy target. like shooting fish in a barrel. 

the only reason I'm on here is because I can't seem to update my game.  the original sins of a solar empire.

I bought it I don't know? 6, or 7 years ago on disk.  does anybody have link or advice on how to get an update for this thing?

or should I give up, and just play it vanilla?  thanks.

I would highly recommend buying Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. It really is a superior game compared to the original.

It often goes on sale at Steam for 10-12 dollars. Not sure what GOG does for sales.

@island dog, thanks for the link.  now if I can only figure out how to register the game. -_-

I didn't buy it digital.  I bought it back when you didn't need to be online to install a game. :time:

@zombieruss5, I have a pretty weak pc.  that's why I'm playing old games. I was actually shocked their was a community behind it.

I will definitely play it if my pc can handle it.

System requirements for Rebellion are quite low due to it being based on the original engine.

That said it's 8 bucks on gamersgate right now. Cheap investment if it works or on a future rig.
