Do the Drengin get a bonus that their other other cpu counterparts do not?
Every single game I play with them they get nearly double the power of any of the other races, when I look at the graphs its not even close on every single stat that is measured. I usually play on gifted.
Unless you or someone intentionally modified your game files, then the answer is no.
Keep in mind that things like starting location and nearby resources do affect the growth rate of AI factions. I have seen one faction have over 100K rating in one game, but 1/10 of that in another with the same galaxy settings.
I have only played it through a few times now, guess they just get lucky every time. My last game I quit they were more that double what any other empire was including my own, didn't finish that one but man do they seem to jump out to a huge power advantage every game in every facet.
I usually play Gifted in Large Galaxies with all 9 standard races (choosing one for myself) and Drengins almost always are doing quite well and are often the dominant AI unless I go after them or bribe AI's to do so.
Nilfry is spot on with his answer. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! If the AI can get several planets quickly on the outset he will pull FAR and ahead of the others and stay that way. Where your games have had the Drengin in mine its the YOR or the KRYNN!
In any case bribe or do what ya need to offset till you can catch up! backed down to normal and will wait for the December update to go back to Gifted once we get some more diplomo in game.
I just one an alliance victory for the first time. It is the easiest I think of all the victory choices.
