Wobbling icons above planets

I have been having trouble with the icons above planets wobbling when I move the screen. It sounds strange, but they wobble very obviously for a bit and then stop after a couple seconds. It happens whenever I move the screen horizontally or zoom in/out - it's very distracting!

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for the post. Does this happen all the time?

Unfortunately yes. I previously didn't have trouble with this on my old laptop but just upgraded to a HP Omen and then the trouble started...

Can you get video of this happening?

heres a video

ok i noticed something while trying to make the video my first two attempts i loaded in the bottom left of the map and the wobbling while still there was barely noticable

however starting in the top right of the map was fairly noticeable

okay so jing apperently takes many frames out or something because its barely noticeable in the video as well but it wobbles around quite dramatically for a second or so on my screen every time i zoom in or out

if at least the information isint usefull i might be able to figure out how to get a decent recording later

I have seen this too. I noticed it on extreme planet icons. When the planet comes into view by zooming or moving the map, the icon jiggles for a second although I already stopped the zooming or the movement. The icon moves probably 5 pixels left to right or up and down several times, gets slower and stops.

To be honest, I think the dancing icons are kind of funny. Can we keep them as an option?

Its your anti-aliasing setting. What is yours set to in the game options?

Ill have to check my settings when i get home

My anti-aliasing was set to 4x. I just tried it with 8x and with "off". The icons are dancing in all three cases.  Also it's not just the extrem planet icon like stated above, but all icons on planets and starbases.

I'm running an Acer Aspire VN7-791laptop with Windows 10 home and a GeForce GTX 860 M graphic card. GeForce driver 353.54. Haven't loaded the newest driver (355.60) yet.

What resolution are you running? Is it native to the monitor?

I too have the wobbling icons (while it doesn't bother me that much), with or without AA, at the native res of my monitor.

It actually happens when moving and / or zooming and looks a little like a force directed layout settling after a few iterations, since the wobble continues for a few moments after the zoom and/or move have already ended.

Then again, the wobbling seems to end around the same time the hexes just outside your territory settle their appearance (they tend to "sparkle" (not quite the right term) for a few moments after moving or zooming). That might indeed be related to AA...

I've reported this to the development team.

What UI scale are you using?

Small, AA is currently at 4x, zoom to cursor is enabled, bloom enabled, lean maps enabled, gel ui enabled.

Resolution 1920x1080 - this is native to both the laptop screen as well as the secondary monitor that is connected via HDMI.

Windows with now updated drivers for the graphic card.

1.3 Optin GalCiv. Gel-UI, bloom and lean maps enabled. Small UI-size.

The icon dance party is still going on ...

... I guess even in space you gotta fight for your right to party

Shouldn't this game be good at handling 4x?

....  Ok, I will see myself out now.

Stardock folks - any progress on this issue or hints on how to fix it?
