Wild Grain Context Information Unclear

As an old GalCiv 2 player, a question:

Can I built anything on wild grain to get the benefit or does it need to be special building.

The context information does not show this information. To provide all information needed for a decision is good usability.

3rd usability issue in just 5 minutes looking into the beta. Stardock I believe in you guys, you can do better than this.

Same for research and production resources.

On a similar note, there is also no feedback how building will impact the output of a planet. So it is currently impossible for new player to make good decisions. it is just trial and error, which would in a final product create a lot of frustration.

Sparhawk, you can put any improvement on any tile. Some tiles have bonuses that increase a specific improvement that you put there. Grain is best to have a farm on it, however you can put a factory if you need the space.

I found this morning that if you hover over the icon/tile the information for that tile is in the upper right hand corner (of the planet screen).

Grain +2 to food or population improvements. Farms and hospitals are population improvements. Some of this is intuitive and some is not so. There will be a 'trainer' scenario coming soon to help people who have no previous experience with the Gal Civ Universe.

Larsenex, yes I saw the information on the top left.

But exactly that information currently provides zero information.

It does not tell you, when or how this benefits are used.

And a training scenario is a pure excuse for bad usability in the first place.

The last decent tutorial I saw was I think 10 years ago, afterwards they just become pure excuses, to say you have a tutorial and let the hardcore gamer figure out how play that game.

Yes, its unclear and a unnecessary hurtle for new players.
